Time Out is thrilled to recently launch the national site, timeout.com/usa. The national site covers content spanning the country including America's best events, festivals, restaurants, entertainment and more. Recent content on the site includes the 20 best Mexican restaurants in America, the best craft beer in America, the best sushi restaurants in America and the best burgers in America.
NBC's New York Live covers Time Out New York's 20th anniversary
Time Out New York celebrates its 20th year of providing New Yorkers with the best things to do in the city. The brand hosted a private party at Gary's Loft in midtown that was transformed into a Time Out New York apartment. NBC's New York Live was there to capture the evening celebrations.
NYCF presents: Time Out New York's Women of Comedy 2015
Time Out New York partners with New York Comedy Festival and is set to celebrate funny women and their legacy in NYC today, November 11, at the Stand. The Women of Comedy event presents a talented lineup including Janeane Garofalo, Amber Nelson, Subhah Agarwal and many more. The campaign featured an insert in last week's issue of the entire NYCF lineup.
Time Out New York Celebrates 20 Years
For its 20th anniversary edition, Time Out New York not only honors the past, but gazes ahead to name the "New New York": the talents and influencers that will be shaping the culture of the city and the entertainment industry for years to come.
Time Out Awards Recap
The Min Awards took place on September 22nd celebrating the Integrated Marketing Awards and Sales Executive of the Year. Time Out North America's Senior Director of Advertising Jessica Rohls was named Co-Winner in the Salesperson of the Year category. Time Out Chicago received an honorable mention in the Custom Publishing Project category for the CAPTAIN MORGAN White Rum Campaign and Time Out New York also received an honorable mention in the Event category for its 2014 Battle of the Burger Competition presented by Amstel Light.
Several award nominations are also underway, with Time Out New York in the running for Folio's 2015 Eddie & Ozzie Awards! Shortlisted for Best Cover Design (Burger issue), Consumer Feature Design (24 Hour NYC issue) and (Lena Dunham issue), and Time Out New York's Art Director Chris Deacon is up for Designer of the Year. Winners will be announced on October 19th.
Time Out New York is also up for 4 categories for min's 2015 Editorial & Design Awards: Editorial Series (Undateables series), Cover Illustration (Lonely NYC issue), Best Photography Spread (Lena Dunham issue) and Cover Design (3 covers for Lena Dunham issue, Summer's Last Hurrah and 24 Hour NYC!). Winners to be announced on November 18th.
Jägermeister launches multi-platform, national campaign with Time Out
Time Out has devised the Ultimate Fall Road Trip across America, one that hits 56 destinations‹a cool spot or scene for each of the 56 herbs, spices and other natural ingredients that go into crafting every bottle of the legendary German liqueur. We're also teaming up with Jägermeister to bring the ultimate road trip to life‹with Time Out users following blogger/Instagrammer Bobby Hicks on his adventures in 10 city destinations over 20 days and adding their own experiences via #JagerRoadTrip. To kickoff the start of the roadtrip in NYC, an event was held at The Box, a unique and exclusive club with live shows that combine music, theatre, and burlesque. An event will follow at NO VACANCY in Los Angeles on October 20th, as well.

Time Out Chicago Launches Free Fall Preview Special Edition
On the back of the success of Time Out New York's free print distribution model, Time Out Chicago's free Fall Preview edition hit the streets on September 9th, with 100,000 copies available via street teams, restaurants, bars, retailers and cultural institutions. The issue features 2 collectors' editions of the cover, with local artists Don't Fret and Sean Dove creating bespoke artwork.
Event roundup: Battle of the Burger Presented by Amstel Light
It was grill fork vs. grill fork, bun vs. bun and plump, juicy patty vs. plump, juicy patty when 20 of the best burger makers in the city competed in Time Out's annual Battle of the Burger. Over 2,000 Time Out New York readers followed their noses to South Street Seaport to sample burgers from 20 stations to choose their favorite burger, with Staten Island's Standard Burger taking home the crown. Eats on Lex was the Reader's Choice, as voted online prior to the event.

Time Out to Launch New Culture And Food Markets in London and New York
Time Out announces its intention to open two new food and cultural markets in London and New York, in 2017 and 2018 respectively, following the phenomenal success of the Time Out Mercado de Ribeira in Lisbon.
TIME OUT MARKETS will bring the best each city has to offer – the most exciting chefs and bars, with innovative arts and cultural events. Leveraging the global multimedia platform’s presence in over 89 of the world’s best cities, the markets will also showcase new talent from around the world.
TIME OUT MARKETS is partnering with Oakley Capital Investments Limited, an investor in Oakley Capital Private Equity, the majority owner of the Time Out Group, which will provide additional financial and operational support to fund its international expansion. Talks with leading landlords in London and New York City to expand the reach of the concept into major cultural centres where the Time Out brand has strong resonance are well progressed.
Booking.com partners with Time Out
Time Out has partnered with Booking.com to launch a fully integrated native advertising campaign. The six-week partnership encourages travelers to act on their wanderlust and make spontaneous bookings through the newly launched Booking.com mobile app.
The multi-platform, multi-city campaign has dedicated hashtag #WingIt and is designed to give users the tools for on-demand travel and discovery of the best city experiences.
The campaign spans digital, social, mobile and print and will feature more than 20 TimeOut.com cities across the US and UK including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, London and Manchester. Dedicated digital hubs will house a variety of inspirational content, including travel tips, competitions and destination reviews.
New business platform launched: Get Listed in New York
Time Out has launched a new platform that allows businesses to list and manage their venue profile on Time Out websites. Launched in London and Paris with “Premium Profiles," a paid-for local advertising platform, New York is debuting a free-to-list service that allows businesses to be feature on the Time Out New York's website. Venues will be able to manage their venue profile through a web-based dashboard, including adding images, descriptions and contact details.
Get Listed is the latest addition to Time Out’s range of business opportunities. Venues that are currently listed will be able to “Claim Their Listing” – receiving control of their venue profile, with the ability to add content to it. Venues will receive access to the simple-to-use, mobile-friendly dashboard, so will be able to manage details such as address, website, phone number and venue description wherever and whenever they want.
Get Listed not only enhances Time Out’s consumer proposition with rich, accurate content provided by the venues themselves, it also converts browsers into customers by connecting local businesses with our socially active millennial audience, who dine out on average 3.2 times per month, and go out 3.4 times a week.
Time Out will subsequently roll out additional opportunities with the platform including paid-for, enhanced Premium Profiles, which will increase a venue’s visibility to a relevant audience.

Time Out New York wins at the min’s Best of Web & Digital Awards!
On May 11, Time Out New York took home an award at min’s Best of Web & Digital Awards in the Social Media Magazine Marketing Campaign category for its #BeFreeNYC campaign. min’s Best of Web & Digital Awards acknowledges media outlets that have taken tremendous strides in the digital space over the past year.
The win for Best Social Media Magazine Marketing Campaign was recognized for Time Out New York’s #BeFreeNYC campaign to promote its Week of Free issue. Additionally, Time Out New York received an honorable mention in the Editorial Excellence – Overall category.

Time Out New York wins an SPD Award
On May 1, the Society of Publication Designers announced the gold- and silver-medal winners of the 50th annual Design Competition. The highest examples of editorial design, photography and illustration excellence across all platforms were recognized at the competiton.
Time Out New York earned a gold medal for the Member's Choice award for the Summer's Last Hurrah cover. Time Out New York was up against Real Simple, The New York Times Magazine, Southern Living, GQ and more within the category.

Terri White to be honored at Folio:'s Top Women in Media 2015 Awards
Folio: recently released its annual Top Women in Media list that celebrates the creativity and accomplishments of women who have courageously moved their teams, brands and companies forward within their markets.
Terri White, editor-in-chief of Time Out New York was named among the "Rising Stars" in the 2015 list. White will be honored alongside women from Bloomberg Media, Glamour, Entrepreneur magazine and more within the Rising Stars category.
Justin Etheridge, EVP of Time Out North America, said, "We are so proud of Terri's accomplishments and it's a well-deserved honor for her to be included in Folio:'s Top Women in Media. Terri has transformed our content across each of Time Out's platforms, and has driven incredible audience growth over the past year."

Time Out New York Ad Campaign Takes On the City
Integrated outdoor and digital brand campaign supports iconic magazine going free.
Time Out, the multi-platform media company, announced the start of an integrated outdoor and digital brand campaign to support Time Out New York magazine launching as a free publication.
Marking the first US ad campaign for the brand in over two years, Time Out has worked in partnership with People Ideas & Culture for creative development and Working Media Group for media planning and buying.
The Time Out New York campaign aims to highlight the brand's total offering online, in print and on mobile and will be delivered across outdoor and digital to drive sustained awareness of the new, free distribution magazine.
The media planning and buying is concentrated on a range of outdoor placements to reach Time Out's target market of A25-34 consumers and media buyers/decision-markers. These placements range from subway cars and subway platforms to Bus Kings, Wallscape and wild posters.
The decision to focus on outdoor is reflected in the free magazine's new distribution model, with Time Out New York handed out on the streets of New York every Wednesday.
Time Out New York Announces Launch Of Its Magazine To Free Weekly Distribution
Ultimate insider city guide Time Out New York announced today that it will be launching its magazine as a free weekly publication beginning this Spring, with distribution on Wednesdays at major commuter hubs, newsstands and other central points throughout the city.
Based on this new distribution model, the Time Out New York magazine weekly circulation is expected to more than double to 305,000, supported at launch with an integrated outdoor and digital brand campaign. This expanded circulation will give advertisers increased opportunities to connect with a much broader audience in the magazine and through integrations with the brand’s global digital, mobile and event platform.
“Taking the magazine free is the next chapter in our audience expansion which last year increased by over 50 percent,” said Justin Etheridge, Executive Vice President, Time Out North America. “We will dramatically increase our reach, create new integrated advertising opportunities and better complement our expanding digital audience in the US.” He added: “The only change to the freemium edition of Time Out New York magazine is the price; the quality of print and the informative and entertaining editorial coverage of the city’s highlights remain unchanged.”
Complementing the free print edition, the Time Out New York website and mobile apps continue to offer distinctive digital content that both locals and visitors turn to every day for information and inspiration.
The Mac Daddy Extravaganza
This past Sunday, New Yorkers chose the city's best macaroni and cheese at our Mac Daddy competition. During the all-day event at Openhouse Gallery, six restaurants—including Almond, Big Daddy's Diner, the Stand, Fame, Atwood Kitchen & Bar Room and Wild Card—served up their best renditions of the mouthwatering comfort-food dish, while guests sampled their way through each version and threw back a pair of Goose Island pints. Readers' votes were counted and the winner was announced, crowning Atwood with the best cheesy macaroni in New York!
The Time Out New York Comedy Showcase kicks off
Last night, Time Out New York introduced its first new monthly comedy series that took place at Carolines. Host Phil Hanley kicked things off by announcing the surprise special guest for the night - none other than the comedy legend that is Jim Norton. Additional comedians that continued to get the crowd going with laughs included Bonnie McFarlane, Ted Alexandro and Michelle Wolf. Time Out New York’s Comedy Showcase will be held on the last Wednesday of each month!
Justin Etheridge Named Executive Vice President of Time Out North America
Time Out Group appoints Justin Etheridge as Executive Vice President of Time Out North America.
Etheridge, a Time Out veteran, has been with the brand for more than 13 years. He joins Time Out North America from his role as co-founder and Group Publisher of Time Out Australia. Prior, he served as publisher of Time Out Dubai for four years where he took the publication from a single-city print product to one of the region's most successful multi-platform media brands.
In his new role, he will report to Group CEO Tim Arthur. Etheridge will oversee the brand's continued audience and commercial growth across all platforms in North America.
"As Time Out continues to expand digitally across the U.S., with our digital audience up 60% year-on-year, Justin will be a key player in Time Out's continuing global growth," said Arthur. "I've worked with Justin for several years, and I know that his inspirational leadership, entrepreneurial skills and in-depth knowledge of Time Out will make the North American business a huge commercial success, building on the incredible editorial achievements we're currently experiencing."
Etheridge commented, "I am excited to remain with Time Out in the brand's next stage of evolution as we translate our unique content and phenomenal audience growth into further commercial success. The nomination was recognized for Time Out New York’s Food & Drink 2014 Instagram cover contest. Time Out at Social Media Week NYC
On February 24th, Time Out participated at Social Media Week in New York, a news platform and global conference that explores the social, cultural and economic impact of social media. This year, the global theme revolved around the 'Rise of the Connected Class' - posing the question: how can all humans achieve more in a connected world?
Time Out's Head of Digital Content Roman Tagoe and Time Out New York's Editor-in-Chief Terri White contributed to the conversation with a session on Time Out's Print to Digital Evolution Towards Creating a More Interconnected Community. The session tied into Social Media Week's global theme by connecting Time Out users with similar passions and experiences in their city - and in any city around the world.

Big Cheesy: Winter Edition Recap
On January 24 and 25, things got hot and heavy as Time Out New York and Openhouse hosted the fifth annual grilled-cheese tasting competition the Big Cheesy: Winter Edition. As with any grilled-cheese competition, only one can reign supreme on the mountain of melted cheese. And the crowning victor of this year is…Hudson Common.

New city launches
In October, Time Out launched San Francisco as part of a multi-city expansion across the U.S. (and the world), joining New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston, Las Vegas, Miami and Washington D.C., with many more in the coming months.
Time Out also launched Time Out World, our personalized event-discovery platform which will power the launch of 15 new cities by the end of November 2014, including Time Out Atlanta, Austin, Dallas, Philadelphia and Seattle.

On November 5, we hosted our first-ever Time Out New York Women of Comedy event to tie in with our special issue on the funniest women in New York City. There were two shows at Le Poisson Rouge with a stellar lineup including Saturday Night Live's Sasheer Zamata, Late Night with Seth Meyers' Michelle Wolf and more! Writer and comedian Seth Meyers tweeted in support of our issue and the Late Night with Seth Meyers Twitter handle even posted our cover.
Time Out Los Angeles' Official Filmmaker Welcome Party
On November 7, Time Out Los Angeles, in partnership with the American Film Institute, hosted the Official Filmmaker Welcome Party for this year's AFI FEST. More than 100 guests attended the intimate gathering and enjoyed custom cocktails, curated bites, a DJ and photo booth. Festival organizers received praise from the filmmakers that this event was the most fun and welcoming one they attended while traveling the country promoting their films.
Time Out Chicago's Captain Morgan White Rum Bartender Contest
Time Out Chicago hosted Captain Morgan's White Rum Bartender Contest on November 18 at Chop Shop - the hybrid eatery, butcher shop and deli on North Avenue. Prior to the event more than 400,000 readers voted on timeout.com/chicago for their favorite drinks from bartenders in Chicago. The top 10 bartenders prepared their cocktails for a panel of judges, and three winners were crowned at the event.
"Week of Free": 150,000 free copies of Time Out New York distributed
On October 15, our Week of Free issue had people engaged on the streets and on social media (#befreenyc) as we brought the best the city has to offer for free, including 150,000 free copies of the magazine distributed throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn. We partnered with blo Blow Dry Bar, Kiehl's, SPiN, Ample Hills, Timber! Cirque Alfonse at NYU Skirball Center and more to give our readers free products, activities and tickets to the best that NYC has to offer. We ended the day with a jam-packed house of readers, VIPs and press at Neuehouse to celebrate the issue with bands curated by Sofar Sounds.
